Factory Street Exterior

Welcome to Factory Street. Settled underneath an oak tree, just steps away from the Boardwalk - this historic 1845 glass factory home seamlessly blends traditional and coastal styles, creating a timeless home for our client.

A curated collaboration with Salt Architecture and RW Anderson & Sons.

This charming home is nestled in the heart of Sandwich, Massachusetts—the oldest town on Cape Cod. Steeped in rich history, Sandwich became a center of industry in 1825 when Deming Jarves established the renowned Sandwich Glass Company. He strategically chose this location for its access to shallow waters and the potential construction of a canal, which would facilitate the shipment of goods.

As the company flourished, Jarves provided housing for his workers throughout the town, with many settling along Factory Street. It was here, in 1845, that our beloved Factory Street project was built. Purchased by our client in 2018, the home held a deep connection to Sandwich’s storied past.

Our goal was to thoughtfully preserve its historical charm while paying homage to its nautical heritage. Through careful restoration and refined design, we infused the home with an elevated yet sophisticated aesthetic, seamlessly blending tradition with timeless elegance.
